Mission Statement

At Riverdale Temple Nursery School (RTNS), we are proud to offer a warm, nurturing, and inclusive environment built upon the dedication of our caring teachers and the support of our amazing families. Many of our teachers have been part of our community for years, and families often return with siblings—and even grandchildren—because they know that RTNS is a truly special place. From the moment you walk through our doors, you can feel the magical energy that fills our school.

We believe that the early years are the most important time in a child’s education—when curiosity blossoms, confidence grows, and a lifelong love of learning begins. At RTNS, children are encouraged to take risks, think creatively, make friends, explore their passions, and discover that sometimes their “mistakes” lead to the most wonderful discoveries. Our goal is to help each child build a strong foundation for learning, so that school always feels like an exciting adventure.

We also believe that strong communication between parents and teachers is essential. By working together, we can best support each child’s growth and success. Parents are their children’s first teachers, and we are honored to build upon the thoughtful, loving work that begins at home.

Our child-centered, developmentally appropriate curriculum embraces each child’s individuality and unique gifts. Teachers challenge children to try new things, while offering the support and encouragement they need along the way. We strive to meet every child where they are—socially, emotionally, and cognitively—helping them reach their fullest potential.

At RTNS, our community extends far beyond the classroom. We hope that every child and family who becomes part of RTNS will always feel connected to our school. Our greatest wish is that the children who begin their journeys here go out into the world and make it a better place.

Warmly,
Alexandra Abikzer
Nursery School Director
