Our People's Prayer Book

Join Cantor Finkel as we explore our prayerbook! We’ll be making our way through the Shabbat morning service, learning about the meanings of the prayers from multiple perspectives, along with their sources and history. Not only will we deepen our understanding of our liturgy, but will have the opportunity to develop a more personal and individual relationship with each prayer. Our guideposts along the way will be the prayerbook itself and the commentary from “My People’s Prayer Book,” a scholarly series from the Reform movement which examines our prayers through different lenses — like Jewish law, morality, mysticism, feminism, and others.

Cantor Finkel will provide readings from “My People’s Prayer Book” along the way, but if you wish to order your own copy of the “Shabbat Morning” volume from the series, you may enjoy having it.
